While RC drift and touring cars are not known for getting covered in mud and filth it is undoubtedly worth cleaning them on a regular basis to ensure they remain in tip-top condition. Fortunately, drifters are on-road cars and don’t get plastered in mud. However, over time, the build up of dirt and grime can affect your cars performance.
We recommend that you clean your vehicle after every time you take it out. Mostly because we just like tinkering with cars! You can get away with cleaning your drift car after every other run. It all depends on the weather and how dusty the track is you have been racing on. Just remember, if you are a professional RC drifter, make sure you car has been cleaned well BEFORE a race event.
Useful tools for top maintenance:
A pack of hand wipes – If you’re messing with you car then you’re going to get your hands dirty.
A Brush – Either a standard paint brush or specialist RC brush is great for removing dust.

If you’re like us, your drift car body shell is of extreme importance, as we all know looking the part is key to drifting. During your drift career you are likely to scuff your car on many occasions and maybe even crash and roll your car during a race! Your shell will show the marks of these accidents so it’s vital you keep it clean. Most marks will come off with white spirit and a bit of elbow grease. Most dust and dirt can be washed off with a wet towel or a dry brush.
Occasionally you may hit a large puddle when you are driving in the rain. It’s important to remember that your car’s electronics will cease to work when exposed to too much water. Your motor, receiver, speed controller and servos can be costly so avoid placing these parts in contact with water. Should you get any of your electronics wet remove them immediately from the car, use a towel to wipe off any excess water, and place them in a warm, dry environment such as your airing cupboard. Leave the parts there for 24 hours and they should be safe to use again.
TOP TIP: If you will be racing on a wet surface spray the chassis and other parts of the car with WD-40. This will waterproof your car and prevent mud from sticking. Don’t do this on a dry dirt track though, as the dust will simply stick to the WD-40!
If you are fortunate enough to own an air compressor then cleaning your car can be extremely fun. Remove the body shell and all major components and set to work with the compressor. Just be careful not to blow excess dirt and dust in to parts of the car that can be damaged such as the motor or servo joints.

As these machines continued to improve and automation began to be instituted in the processes for manufacturing, the CNC machine again improved and decreased the error frequency while improving quality. This automation helped the operator’s production overall. With the CNC automation it brought more flexibility to the way parts were held in the process of manufacturing and it reduced the time it took to change the machine in order to produce different types of components.
Today, there are a variety of uses for the CNC machines and they are controlled through computer files that were created through CAM software packages. This enabled any part of the assembly process to go from design to manufacturing without a drafting plan created on paper.
CNC Machines also are something like a robot system because they can be programmed to do any kind of machine operation that has been programmed into them. They can also run 24 hours a day. Another nice feature is that they can be programmed to call the human operator if it detects a problem in any part of the process.
Through the use of the software programming the CNC machine can cut curves, drill holes, tap, repeat the processes in a series –as an example a series of holes spaced so many spaces apart and it can support logical commands.

The Burris FastFire II works as advertised. However, it does have some flaws. The red dot is simply too bright on other than very bright days. The instructions say not to do this, but I find that three layers of masking tape over the automatic eye is just about right on a cloudy day to get the dot brightness down to a useable level. If not for that I would put this unit in a drawer and not use it.
The optional Glock mounting plate is not confidence inspiring. On the standard thin framed models, mine is a Glock 35, the mounting plate is properly sized. It does not work on the large framed Glocks, .45 cal and 10mm, at all. Mounting the base plate on my Glock 35 worked best when the included star washers were used with every screw, something that was not very clear from the instructions. Use loctite on all screws and torque only to the stated torque. The mounting plate is then minimally secure. Don’t try and wiggle it–you may succeed!
Now, go shoot, but keep your fingers crossed that the unit will stay attached.

Power tools come in a number of varieties. Some, for heavy duty tasks, while others are better for general use. Most tools will generate some amount of debris, but some more than others. Before you even plug in a tool, consider the surrounding work space. Is it well-lit? Is it clean? If the area meets neither of these standards, clean it and find adequate lighting before turning on the tools. Additionally, only those skills to use tools should be in the work area. Children and pets, in particular, should not be anywhere near. If an extension cord must be used, make sure it’s the correct length for the space you’re in. A work area, as well, should always have one first aid kit.

Once you’re finished with the tool, always turn it off with the “off” switch instead of simply unplugging it.
